6: Lack of Sex Drive
The thyroid gland regulates a lot of hormones that are directly responsible for sexual arousal in healthy adults. One of the main base evolutionary needs of a human is to sexually procreate, and so the body has dozens of systems to create a sex drive. Unfortunately, most of these systems are dependent on hormones, which are regulated by the thyroid. So if you’ve suddenly lost your sex drive, this can certainly be a sign that there’s something wrong with your thyroid gland.
7: Irregularity
The title is a nice way to phrase it, but basically what this means is that your bowels are out of whack and you’re either going to the bathroom a lot, or not enough. In other words, a thyroid issue can really make you irregular, regardless of your diet. This could happen because hormones also play a large role in regulating your body’s digestive system. So if your hormones are out of balance, this could leave you with an unpredictable bowel function. It’s not something that a lot of people notice, at least right away, so you may want to focus more on your bowel function to spot the signs early.
