10 Signs of Thyroid Issues

2: Goiter

Goiter is a growth that occurs on the side of the neck, which can be a small lump or a rather large lump around the size of an orange. While there are more causes for such swelling beyond just hyperthyroidism, a problematic thyroid is far and away the most common cause of goiter. So, if you find any sort of swelling around the neck, it’s a good idea to go have things checked out. Catching thyroid issues early can make a huge difference in your treatment options and the level of success.

3: Mental Issues

To say “mental issues” can come across vague, but there’s really no avoiding that, as mental issues affect different people in different ways. For a lot of people dealing with thyroid issues, for instance, they may experience sudden memory loss coupled with a lack of concentration and being easily distracted. They may also experience clarity issues, like the “brain fog” issue many people are familiar with. Only an individual understands how their day to day mental acuity works, and so only an individual can tell when something’s off or wrong. Just be aware that mental issues are a possible sign of thyroid issues.
