10 Symptoms of Strep Throat

2. Fever

A fever usually either very closely follows the chills, or it will happen while the chills are still present. The chills are the first signs of the fever, which is why the fever will always quickly accompany the chills with a strep infection. There’s really no getting around the fever here. Your body has a lot of bad bacteria in it, which is what’s causing the strep. The chills and fever are the infection finally breaking through, and the strep needs to run its course.

3. Headache(s)

Many children complain of really bad, sudden migraine headaches when strep takes them over. Many adults reading this may remember winters of their youth, when they were laying down dealing with bad head pains and couldn’t quite figure out what they were. The headache is usually the next thing to hit after the fever really settles in. These headaches can be mild to severe, and they’re usually a pretty good indication that you or your child may be sick, especially when combined with the fever and chills.
