10 Common Causes of Dizziness

4. Anemia

Anemia is a condition that leads to a deficiency in red blood cells. The red blood cells carry oxygen to the brain, and when enough oxygen does not travel to the brain, a person feels lightheaded and dizzy. The deficiency of the red blood cells impedes the flow of oxygen-rich blood from flowing into the brain, causing dizziness and lightheadedness. Although anemic people are more prone to fatigue, most complain of dizziness. The deficiency of Vitamin B12, which leads to the abnormal production of dysfunctional and abnormally large red blood cells also causes anemia.

5. Migraines

Several reasons explain the coexistence of dizziness and headaches, some easily remedied while in some cases they indicate medical emergencies. Dizziness is familiar to those experiencing frequent migraines. Nausea, sound sensitivity, and light sensitivity are additional symptoms that may result from a migraine. Many people experiencing dizziness experience loss of balance and disequilibrium, which in reality is a sensation of perceived motion. It’s important to note that a third of people with migraine headaches experience bouts of vertigo.
