Crabs: The Infamous Pubic Lice

Crabs, also known as pubic lice, are parasitic insects that primarily spread through contact with infested clothing, towels, or bedding. These tiny creatures infest the genital hair, although they can also be found in other coarse body hair like armpits or eyebrows. The most commonly experienced symptom of a crab infestation is intense itching, and the bites of these minuscule bugs can result in the appearance of pale blue spots on the skin. In some cases, scratching the affected areas can lead to secondary bacterial infections. Fortunately, there are over-the-counter creams available for treating crabs, and for more stubborn cases, prescription medications can be prescribed.
HIV / AIDS
Understanding HIV and AIDS is crucial in order to prevent the spread of this deadly virus. HIV, also known as human immunodeficiency virus, can ultimately progress to AIDS, or acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. The transmission of HIV occurs through various bodily fluids, including semen, vaginal secretions, and blood. Once contracted, the virus attacks and weakens the immune system, making the body susceptible to infections and diseases.
It is important to note that not everyone with HIV will develop AIDS. However, without proper medical intervention and treatment, the virus can progress to the advanced stage of AIDS. Currently, there is no known cure for HIV/AIDS. However, there are antiretroviral drugs available that can effectively suppress the virus, enabling individuals to live long and healthy lives despite their diagnosis.
