10 Early Pregnancy Signs

Changes in Food Preferences During Pregnancy

When a woman becomes pregnant, she may experience a shift in her food preferences. This change can be attributed to the overproduction of estrogen and hormonal imbalances that occur during early pregnancy. As a result, pregnant women may find themselves becoming more sensitive to the smells, appearances, and tastes of food, even those they previously enjoyed.

One common phenomenon during pregnancy is the development of food aversions. Newly pregnant women may become picky eaters and may find themselves avoiding certain foods that they used to love. This aversion to specific foods can progress as the pregnancy continues.

It is important to note that these changes in food preferences are normal and typically subside after the first trimester. However, if a pregnant woman experiences severe food aversions that interfere with her ability to maintain a balanced diet, it is recommended to consult with a healthcare professional.

Signs of Early Pregnancy: Bloating

When women experience physical changes like unexplained weight gain, they may start suspecting pregnancy. While the belly typically doesn’t start growing until the third or fourth month of pregnancy, some women may experience bloating or unusual swelling. If a woman is noticing this symptom along with other potential signs of pregnancy, it is recommended to take a pregnancy test to confirm.
