The distinction between the Gregorian and Lunar month calendars is significant. The Chinese Gender Chart, which has remained unchanged throughout the years, is based on the lunar month calendar. This calendar was used in China before the adoption of the Gregorian calendar in the 20th century. The lunar month calendar follows the moon’s cycle and lasts for approximately 29 ½ days. On the other hand, the Gregorian calendar, which is based on the sun’s cycle, is about 11 days shorter. It is important to note that when a baby is born, according to the lunar calendar, they are already considered a year old.
Understanding the Functioning of the Calendar
When it comes to predicting the gender of a baby and determining the Chinese zodiac sign, the calendar operates by converting the mother’s date of birth and the date of conception into their lunar equivalents. By doing so, it can provide an accurate prediction of the baby’s gender as well as their Chinese zodiac sign. Let’s take an example to illustrate this process. If the mother was born on March 1, 1985, and the date of conception was August 20, 2018, the calendar would indicate that the baby will be a girl, born under the Chinese zodiac sign of the pig. Additionally, it would calculate the mother’s lunar age at the time of conception as 34, even though according to the 2018 Gregorian calendar, she would be considered 33 years old.
