Original practitioners of oil pulling primarily used sunflower oil and sesame oil to address various oral health issues. These early adopters believed that oil pulling not only helped prevent dry throat, bleeding gums, cracked lips, and oral malodor, but also had the potential to strengthen the teeth, gums, and jaw.
