Tight Clothing
Vibratory urticaria is a condition that can be triggered by wearing tight clothing. Similar to contact dermatitis, this occurs when the skin is irritated by direct contact with clothing or other fabrics. However, vibratory urticaria is more likely to happen when there is excessive friction, such as when wearing a shirt, pants, or underwear that is too tight. In addition to skin irritation, this condition can also cause swelling, redness, and itching.
Understanding Dermatographism: Hives Caused by Scratching
When you compulsively scratch or over-scratch dry skin, it can result in a condition known as dermatographism. This condition is characterized by the development of hives due to pressure or trauma applied to the skin. However, it is important to note that experiencing hives after scratching does not necessarily mean that the scratching itself caused the symptoms. There is also a possibility that an allergenic substance, such as a chemical or food residue, present under your nails, triggered a topical allergic reaction.
