Nausea and Vomiting
When ulcers become inflamed and swell, they can eventually cause scarring. If this happens near the passage that connects the stomach to the duodenum, called the pylorus, the swelling can obstruct the normal emptying of digested food into the small intestine. This interruption in the digestion process can cause gastrointestinal upset, leading to symptoms such as nausea and vomiting.
Bloating: Causes and Symptoms
Bloating, a common digestive issue, can be caused by various factors. One of the causes of bloating is ulcerative obstruction of the gastrointestinal tract. When there is a blockage in the digestive system, food cannot properly empty into the bowels. As a result, individuals may experience a sensation of abdominal fullness and notice their belly becoming extended.
Bloating commonly occurs after a meal, regardless of the amount of food consumed. Even a small portion of food can lead to bloating in individuals with ulcerative obstruction. This discomforting condition can cause physical discomfort and affect daily activities.
