10 Signs of Prostate Cancer

Erectile Dysfunction and Prostate Cancer

Erectile dysfunction refers to the condition where a man is unable to maintain or obtain an erection for sexual intercourse on a regular basis. The prostate, which is a part of the male reproductive system, plays a crucial role in this process. However, prostate cancer can lead to impotence or erectile dysfunction.

When there is a sudden onset of erectile dysfunction, it could potentially be an indication of prostate cancer. In such cases, physicians typically conduct screening tests to identify the underlying cause of the problem.

Hematospermia: Causes and Symptoms

Hematospermia, also known as blood in the semen, can occur when blood vessels in the reproductive system are damaged. While the cause is often unknown, it is commonly associated with infections. However, in rare cases, it may be a symptom of prostate cancer, particularly in men over the age of 40, although this occurs in less than ten percent of cases. Additionally, procedures such as prostate surgery or biopsies can also lead to hematospermia, which may persist for several weeks after the intervention.
