Swollen lymph nodes, also known as lymphofollicular hyperplasia, is a condition characterized by the enlargement of certain areas in your body. This occurs when your lymph nodes produce an increased amount of white blood cells to combat infections. The additional cells cause the affected lymph node areas to swell. These white blood cells play a crucial role in your immune system, working tirelessly to protect your bloodstream from harmful viruses, bacteria, and other germs that can lead to illness. Lymph nodes are situated throughout your body, and when you have cat-scratch disease, the ones closest to the infection site may become swollen.
Understanding Chills
Chills, also known as the generalized feeling of coldness, can cause shivering and a sensation of being chilled to the bone. This sensation is commonly experienced when exposed to a cold environment, but it can also be a persistent feeling associated with an illness. While having a fever is not always a prerequisite, any condition that disrupts the body’s temperature regulation can lead to chills.
