Red face: A Symptom of Scarlet Fever
When a person is afflicted with scarlet fever, one of the prominent symptoms is a flushed or red face. This redness on the face stands out from the blotchy rash that typically appears on the rest of the body. The cheeks become intensely red, resembling a severe case of sunburn. Interestingly, the area around the lips is typically unaffected and may even appear pale in comparison.
Understanding Swollen Tonsils
Swollen tonsils, also known as tonsillitis, indicate the presence of an infection. These small masses of tissue are part of the lymphatic system and tend to enlarge when infected by bacteria, particularly Streptococcal. Swollen tonsils are a prevalent symptom of strep throat and can also occur in cases of scarlet fever.
