10 Symptoms of HPV

What are Flat Warts?

Flat warts are a common type of wart that often affects children, teenagers, and young adults who have been infected with the human papillomavirus (HPV). These warts appear as flat, raised growths on the skin and are easily identifiable by their darker color. They tend to develop in areas where scratching is more likely, such as the face, neck, and legs. Due to their smaller size, flat warts can sometimes be mistaken for acne or allergies, particularly when they appear on the face.

Understanding Plantar Warts

Plantar warts, like common warts, are caused by the same strains of the human papillomavirus (HPV). However, plantar warts tend to develop in areas of the foot that are subjected to constant stress and pressure, such as the balls of the feet or heels. They have a hard and grainy appearance, making them easily distinguishable. The location of these warts can often lead to discomfort and pain. However, if they are not painful, they may go unnoticed as they are typically found in less visible areas of the body.
