Congestion
When suffering from a sinus infection, inflammation in the nasal passages can occur, resulting in restricted airflow in and out of the nose. Additionally, this congestion can impact the person’s ability to taste food and speak, often leading to a hoarse voice and temporary changes in tone.
Headache: A Common Symptom of Sinus Infection
A sinus infection can often be accompanied by a pounding headache. The pressure and swelling in the sinuses can cause intense pain, particularly in the areas above the nose and around the eyes. This pain can even radiate to the teeth or ears, mimicking a toothache or earache.
During the night, drainage from the sinuses can accumulate, leading to morning headaches. These headaches may gradually improve as the day progresses, or they can worsen due to changes in temperature and other environmental conditions.
