10 Symptoms of Bird Flu

Diarrhea in Bird Flu: An Uncommon Symptom with Possible Serious Implications

When it comes to bird flu, diarrhea is not a symptom commonly associated with the more typical influenza. However, a study conducted on Thai patients infected with avian flu revealed that a significant 40 percent of them experienced diarrhea as one of the presenting symptoms. This finding led to the proposal that diarrhea could be an important indicator of bird flu and might even suggest a poor prognosis for the affected individuals.

Fever

When a person is infected with the virus, the symptoms can range from mild to severe. One common symptom is the development of a fever, which can be either low-grade or very high. A high fever is often accompanied by cold sweats and chills, and it typically reaches a temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or 38 degrees Celsius. This fever is a characteristic symptom of non-avian influenza.
