The spleen, a vital organ responsible for filtering blood, becomes hyperactive and begins to trap red blood cells. As a result, it progressively destroys the healthy red blood cells until none remain. Over time, the continuous destruction of red blood cells causes the spleen to increase in size. In some cases, this enlargement may be detectable through an X-ray examination; however, unfortunately, the condition might remain unnoticed until it reaches an advanced stage. Due to the spleen’s limited capacity to bear the strain, it may eventually rupture if overloaded.
