10 Symptoms of Herpes

4. Swollen Lymph Nodes

You have lymph nodes throughout your body. They are small glands that are shaped like beans. Your lymphatic system helps filter and drain waste material from your tissues and bloodstream. Most of your lymph nodes are in your neck, under your arms, and in your groin. With genital herpes, the glands around your genitals become swollen and sore.

5. Headaches

Headaches are a common occurrence during a herpes outbreak. Symptoms can range from a general mild sensation of head pain to a dull or severe throbbing pain felt behind the eyes. Herpes outbreaks can make you sensitive to light and sound. And this leads to irritability. The headache can also lead to muscle aches, blurred vision, nausea, difficulty concentrating or sleeping, loss of appetite, and undesired weight loss.
