Managing Dizziness and Shortness of Breath in Lyme Disease
Individuals diagnosed with Lyme disease may encounter episodes of dizziness or shortness of breath, which are commonly accompanied by cardiac complications. In certain cases, the simple act of getting up slowly after a period of sitting or lying down can provide relief from this sensation. However, persistent or recurring lightheadedness and the feeling of impending fainting should not be ignored and require immediate medical intervention.
General Inflammation
Lyme disease can lead to various forms of inflammation throughout the body, impacting different areas such as the joints and eyes. In some rare instances, individuals may experience liver inflammation or hepatitis, which can develop several weeks, months, or even years following a tick bite. Although highly uncommon, meningitis, an inflammation of the brain membranes, is also a potential complication of Lyme disease.
