10 Symptoms of Male Hypogonadism

Causes of Body Hair Loss

Loss of body hair, including a decrease in hair on the arms, legs, chest, and pubic region, can be attributed to low levels of testosterone. Men with hypogonadism, a condition characterized by low testosterone production, often experience hair loss or patchy hair growth on their bodies. This hair loss can occur gradually or suddenly. If left untreated, it can eventually lead to complete hair loss throughout the body.

Development of Breast Tissue in Men with Hypogonadism

One of the symptoms of hypogonadism in men is the development of breast tissue. This condition, known as gynecomastia, can sometimes be severe enough to cause noticeable breasts. The presence of enlarged breasts can be embarrassing for men and may lead to feelings of depression or withdrawal. Fortunately, testosterone replacement therapy is often effective in alleviating this symptom in many cases of hypogonadism.
