Osteomyelitis: A Bone Infection Caused by MRSA
One of the symptoms of MRSA-induced osteomyelitis, a bone infection, is pain in the long bones of the legs. However, it is important to note that this condition can also affect the arms or back. In addition to experiencing limb pain, individuals with osteomyelitis may also have a high temperature. They may also feel chills or notice warmth, pain, and swelling around the affected bone. It is worth mentioning that the bacteria responsible for osteomyelitis usually enter the bone through an open wound, surgery, or injury.
Understanding MRSA Pneumonia
MRSA pneumonia is a secondary condition that shares similar symptoms with general pneumonia, including fever, coughing, chest pain, and shortness of breath. However, there are additional symptoms that specifically indicate MRSA pneumonia, such as low temperature, vomiting and nausea, fatigue, and confusion. Coughing may also produce phlegm or pus. It is important to note that MRSA-induced pneumonia can lead to necrosis, a serious complication.
