Necrotic scars occur when tissues undergo decomposition or cell death due to various reasons. This can be a normal process or a result of an infection. When an individual suffers from Necrotizing fasciitis, every layer of tissue in the affected area is under attack. However, the progression of the infection can be halted through timely medical interventions. Unfortunately, if the initial symptoms go unnoticed or are ignored, necrosis will follow. As the bacteria continue to spread, the affected area will experience the shedding of dead skin, leaving behind black scabs. In more severe cases, amputation of body parts may be necessary.
Gas Formation in Tissue during Decomposition

As Necrotizing fasciitis progresses deeper into the body, you may experience a cracking sensation and observe swelling. It is crucial to seek immediate medical attention if you encounter these symptoms. In severe cases, where the sensation extends to the extremities, amputation may be necessary as gas formation indicates advanced decomposition. Ignoring these signs can have serious consequences. However, it is important to note that the disease does not always reach this stage.
