12 Symptoms of Pancreatitis

2. Severe Pain may Develop Rapidly or Gradually with Time

The pain around your abdomen can develop rapidly or gradually over a few days, depending on the cause. If gallstones are the trigger, the pain develops slowly and may take days. Older adults over 40 years are more susceptible to gallstones. However, if it is caused by taking large amounts of alcohol, the pain spreads rapidly over a couple of hours. Your doctor may perform an endoscopic procedure to remove the gallstones or check for blockages in the pancreas.

3. Nausea and Vomiting

Nausea and vomiting can be a symptom of many different conditions. If you have pancreatitis, nausea and vomiting will occur alongside the stomach pain. Another sign is pain that worsens after eating. If you notice all those symptoms at around the same time, consider visiting a doctor.
