6. Swollen Lymph Nodes

Your lymph nodes sit under your jaw, toward the middle of your face. So, sort of ear-level under the jaw. They will swell up with a strep throat infection, but this isn’t something you’re necessarily going to be able to tell by looking down your throat. This is something you will have to feel for. In fact, it’s better if someone else checks, because they will likely be able to better tell how the lymph nodes feel relative to the rest of the area. There are different reasons the nodes could well, but strep is certainly one of the most common.

7. No Appetite

During an infection in the body, your body is devoting all of its resources to fighting the infection. Ironically, this brings about a loss of appetite. It’s not that your stomach isn’t growling and demanding food. It’s that your systems are too busy fighting the foreign bacteria. It’s ironic because this is when your body needs fuel the most, but it’s a time you won’t want to eat. A loss of appetite, accompanied by some of the other symptoms listed above, could be a sign of a strep infection.
