10 Symptoms of Stress

Causes of Headaches

Headaches are a prevalent symptom associated with stress. According to a study conducted on 267 individuals suffering from chronic headaches, it was discovered that nearly half of the participants had recently encountered a stressful event. A subsequent study, which involved a larger sample size, validated these findings and emphasized that higher stress levels were directly linked to an increased number of monthly headaches. Stress appears to exacerbate both tension and migraine headaches.

Insomnia: The Link Between Stress and Sleep Problems

When stress becomes a constant companion, it can start interfering with our ability to sleep peacefully. Individuals burdened with high levels of work-related stress often find themselves caught between exhaustion and the inability to fall asleep easily. Several studies have established a strong connection between stress and insomnia, although the exact internal cause remains elusive to medical experts. Some doctors propose that stressful events trigger anxiety, which then disrupts sleep patterns and leads to insomnia. On the other hand, other medical professionals argue that stress is often a consequence of lifestyle choices, such as an inclination to overwork, and that these choices make individuals more susceptible to experiencing insomnia.
