Sinus Discharge: What You Need to Know
When it comes to sinus infections, one of the most common symptoms is increased nasal discharge. Usually clear and transparent, this discharge can take on a yellow-greenish or brown color when an infection is present. The change in color is a result of the infection and the way mucus drains into the nasal passages. In some cases, the discharge may not even come out through the nose but instead flow down the back of the throat, leading to a condition known as postnasal drip. This can cause an irritating itch or tickle in the throat.
Sinusitis and Tooth Pain
One common symptom experienced by individuals with sinusitis is tooth pain. Although it may resemble a tooth infection, this pain is not caused by dental issues. Instead, it is a result of the pressure exerted on the top teeth due to inflammation of the sinus membranes. This inflammation can lead to a toothache-like sensation.
