10 Thrombosis Symptoms

Visible Veins

In some cases, veins affected by a clot may become visible on the surface of the skin. The inflammation of the skin can cause many surface nerves to become more prominent and noticeable, with the affected deep vein being the most obvious. This deep vein may also feel like a firm, thickened cord on the skin’s surface. The visibility and texture of these veins are due to the stress on the vein membranes caused by reduced blood flow. If symptoms reach this severity, it is important to seek medical advice without delay.

Tired Legs

One common complaint among individuals with thrombosis is the sensation of tiredness in their limbs. This fatigue is distinct from leg ache or over-exertion, as it manifests as a feeling of heaviness in the legs, leading to a sense of lethargy and reluctance to move. Interestingly, this tiredness can occur even before other symptoms of thrombosis become apparent, although it is often overlooked. Additionally, it is important to note that this feeling of fatigue can persist for up to a week after recovery. Several factors, including the strength of the immune system and the body’s response to treatment, can influence the duration of this discomfort.
