10 Tips for Birthing Classes

Engage with the Instructor

Are you struggling with a particular fear related to childbirth? Or perhaps you have a burning question that has been bothering you for a while now? Take the opportunity to arrive a few minutes early to your childbirth class and have a private conversation with your instructor. By sharing your concerns and queries with them, you can rest assured that they have likely dealt with similar issues before, and that many other women in the class may have similar thoughts. During the class, the instructor may address your question (without mentioning your name), providing valuable insights and tips to help alleviate your anxieties and those of the other women in the class.

Find out what course materials are provided

Prior to enrolling in a class, it is advisable to inquire about the availability of take-home course materials. Contact the birthing center, instructor, or hospital and ask whether any educational materials will be provided for you to take home. These materials could include books, pamphlets, or photocopies of presentation slides. Understanding what resources will be available in advance allows you to set realistic expectations for the course.
