10 Treatments of Bursitis

2. Warming for Soreness

The trouble with bursitis is that it might extend past your joints. Because it usually happens in the knees and elbows, you’re actually working these joints a lot while they’re inflamed, so your muscles are going to bear the brunt of a lot of this pain and soreness as compensation for what’s happening with the joints. This is where a warm compress can come in handy; not on the joints themselves but on the muscles that now also have pain that needs to be alleviated.

3. Sleep Differently

If you wake up with bursitis pain, the odds are pretty good that the position in which you sleep is causing those sacs to inflame while you’re resting. This is one of the worst symptoms of bursitis, because there’s nothing you’re doing that’s really your fault. Most people will tell you to rest to heal; however, when some people rest with bursitis, it just gets worse. You might want to consider changing how you sleep, your positions, and you may even want to look into getting a new mattress for the condition.
