13 Symptoms of HIV

Genital and Oral Herpes in HIV Patients

When it comes to HIV patients, the prevalence of both genital and oral herpes is quite high. It is not uncommon for individuals with HIV to develop either one or both of these herpes infections. Oral herpes appears in the form of cold sores, which are painful blisters that occur on and around the lips. However, in the case of HIV patients, these outbreaks tend to be particularly severe due to their weakened immune system.

In some instances, herpes may be a pre-existing condition in HIV patients, making them more susceptible to subsequent HIV infections. The presence of herpes can compromise the immune system and increase the vulnerability to acquiring HIV.

Signs of Weakness and Fatigue in HIV

One of the common symptoms experienced by individuals at all stages of HIV infection is a general sense of malaise, weakness, and fatigue. This is primarily due to the depletion of the body’s energy reserves as the immune system fights against various infections. As time goes on, the continuous strain on the immune system becomes increasingly draining, leading to the widely recognized symptom of fatigue associated with the condition.
