Can Kombucha Extend Your Life?
There is a popular belief that consuming kombucha can potentially increase your lifespan. This claim seems plausible, considering that individuals who choose to incorporate kombucha into their diet often tend to lead overall healthier lifestyles. Interestingly, a study conducted in 2000 discovered that male rats who consumed kombucha lived approximately 5% longer than the control group that did not consume it. For female rats, the increase in lifespan was around 2%. Another study conducted in 2001 demonstrated that rats who consumed kombucha for 15 days exhibited fewer stress symptoms and experienced improved overall health. However, further research is still required to ascertain whether these effects can be replicated in humans.
