Understanding Watery Eyes in Measles
Watery eyes accompanied by redness and swollen eyelids are common symptoms of measles, particularly among young children and older adults. While similar to conjunctivitis in some ways, which refers to infection and inflammation of the conjunctiva, measles-related watery eyes can indicate more serious complications involving the cornea. Keratitis, a condition characterized by excessive tear production, can cause pain, redness, and blurry vision. If left untreated, it may even result in permanent vision impairment.
