Symptoms of Hydronephrosis

Hydronephrosis, characterized by the swelling of one or both kidneys, is a secondary condition often caused by urine accumulation that fails to drain into the bladder. It is important to note that individuals of all ages can be affected by this condition. Prompt diagnosis and treatment of hydronephrosis can prevent long-term complications, such as kidney scarring and potential kidney failure, although the latter is extremely rare. Since there are not many distinctive symptoms specific to hydronephrosis, it is crucial to remain vigilant and seek medical attention if multiple general symptoms occur.

Frequent Urination: Causes and Symptoms

Dealing with frequent urination can be quite bothersome, especially when it doesn’t seem to be related to your water intake. Although it is not considered life-threatening, it can be an indication of an underlying health issue. Frequent urination is commonly associated with infections of the urinary tract (UTI), kidneys, or bladder.

Difficulty in Urinating

A condition closely associated with frequent urination is the inability to urinate despite the urge to do so. This medical condition is known as an overactive bladder and is typically diagnosed based on a combination of symptoms, such as nocturia (frequent urination during the night) and urinary incontinence. A common manifestation of both hydronephrosis and urinary tract infections (UTIs) is the persistent sensation of needing to urinate urgently.
