Do Fleas Live on Humans?

Can fleas survive on humans? The answer is no. Although fleas do bite humans, they do not have the ability to live on our bodies. Fleas prefer to reside in dark, warm, and furry environments. Since humans do not have an ample amount of hair, fleas do not find our bodies suitable for their survival.

However, if your pet or home is heavily infested with fleas, you might notice them on your body. Nevertheless, these fleas will not linger or establish a permanent residence on you.

Where do fleas originate from?

Fleas have a tendency to inhabit the shaded regions of your yard and will latch onto unsuspecting pets as they rest or pass through these affected areas. Although fleas are capable of jumping up to 150 times their own height, they typically do not travel long distances. As a result, it is usually wild animals like raccoons or rabbits, as well as other pets, that are responsible for introducing fleas into your yard. These wild animals inadvertently leave flea eggs behind, which then hatch and multiply, leading to an infestation.
