All About Anaphylactic Shock

Symptoms of Anaphylactic Shock

When anaphylaxis progresses into anaphylactic shock, additional symptoms start to manifest. These symptoms primarily arise due to severely low blood pressure and inadequate oxygen circulation throughout the body. Individuals experiencing anaphylactic shock may encounter the following symptoms:

  • Loss of consciousness
  • Loss of bladder or bowel control
  • Chest pain

These symptoms are indicative of the critical state of anaphylactic shock and require immediate medical attention.

Similar Conditions

Anaphylactic shock is characterized by a lack of oxygen supply to the organs and tissues, similar to other types of shock. However, anaphylactic shock is specifically triggered by allergies. While there are similarities in symptoms, such as asthma, panic attacks, and syncope, the rashes and skin irritation associated with anaphylaxis and anaphylactic shock are distinct.
