Babies Show Language Development in the Womb
Even before they are born, babies are already beginning to react to and learn language. This is because the neural networks necessary for perceiving and comprehending language start to develop at an early stage. By the time a baby reaches 24 weeks gestation, they can already hear and react to sounds. As they approach 35 weeks, they start to actively learn language.
Once a child is born, the first six months play a crucial role in speech development. It is during this time that synaptic growth peaks, which is as early as six months of age. Therefore, it is vital to provide auditory stimulation to ensure proper language development.
