Sheehan’s Syndrome is a condition that occurs when individuals experience significant blood loss or develop extremely low blood pressure during or after childbirth. The lack of oxygen supply to the body in these situations can lead to damage to the pituitary gland, resulting in a condition known as hypopituitarism. This condition, also referred to as Sheehan’s syndrome, often takes months or even years to manifest noticeable symptoms. However, in some cases, symptoms can develop rapidly.
Common symptoms of Sheehan’s syndrome include difficulties with breastfeeding, irregular menstrual cycles, an underactive thyroid, and constant fatigue. Additionally, individuals affected by this condition may also experience a drop in blood pressure and blood sugar levels.
