Eye Irritation and Secretion in Felty Syndrome
Individuals with Felty syndrome may experience various symptoms related to the disorder. Among these manifestations is the occurrence of eye burning sensation and discharge. Although these symptoms are typically linked to infections, which are prevalent in Felty’s patients, determining the exact cause requires a thorough evaluation of the individual’s specific diagnosis.
Blood Disorders and Leg Ulcers
Individuals diagnosed with Felty syndrome often experience normochromic normocytic anemia. This condition refers to the production of red blood cells that are of average size and normal rate but are present in low levels. Additionally, these individuals may also have thrombocytopenia, a condition characterized by a low platelet count, which can result in ineffective blood clotting. Consequently, this combination of blood disorders creates an environment that increases the likelihood of developing difficult-to-heal leg ulcers. These ulcers pose a potential risk for infection.
