A recent study conducted by Johns Hopkins University has discovered a potential link between consuming hard fruits like apples and improved lung function. In particular, the research suggests that individuals who incorporate fresh fruits, especially apples, into their diet may experience a slower decline in lung function, even if they are former smokers. This beneficial effect can be attributed to the presence of fat-soluble antioxidants such as zeaxanthin, lutein, and provitamin A carotenoids, which are known to promote better lung health.
