Doctors often prescribe ductograms to conduct thorough imaging examinations of the breast ducts. Primarily, this procedure is employed to identify the underlying cause of nipple discharge. During the process, a contrast dye is injected into the breast, while a small tube known as a cannula pushes fluid into the ducts.
