Identifying the Symptoms of Sleepwalking
Sleepwalking can be recognized through a variety of evident signs. These include engaging in activities such as walking, sitting up in bed, and even talking during sleep. However, individuals who sleepwalk are typically unresponsive when spoken to and often exhibit a distant, vacant expression on their face. Furthermore, they may display a lack of coordination and appear bewildered or disoriented upon awakening.
Do Sleepwalkers Know What They’re Doing?
Dispelling a common myth, sleepwalkers do not walk with closed eyes and their arms outstretched like in the movies. In fact, they navigate their surroundings with open eyes, as it is necessary for them to do so. However, despite being active, sleepwalkers are not conscious of their actions and have no recollection of their nighttime activities upon waking up the next day.
