General Causes of Nausea

Migraines: More Than Just a Headache

Migraines are not your average headache. Unlike a typical headache, migraines can be significantly worse, causing intense throbbing or pulsing pain that typically affects only one side of the head. Along with the excruciating pain, migraines often bring about extreme sensitivity to light and sound. In severe cases, they may even lead to nausea and vomiting. The impact of a migraine can be so debilitating that individuals experiencing it find themselves unable to carry out their usual activities for days on end.

Motion Sickness

Motion sickness is a common condition that causes discomfort in individuals when they are traveling in ships, cars, planes, or other forms of transportation. Initially, they may experience a general sense of uneasiness, but this can escalate to feelings of nausea and even vomiting. This temporary condition arises from disturbances in the inner ear, which is responsible for maintaining balance and equilibrium. Conflicting signals regarding the body’s position and the motion it is undergoing are received by the brain, not only from the ears but also from the eyes, skin receptors, muscles, and joint sensors.
