What are the causes of heat rash?
Heat rash occurs when the sweat ducts become blocked, preventing the sweat from being released. As a result, the trapped sweat leads to inflammation, which manifests as a rash. This condition is frequently observed in infants who are either excessively dressed or exposed to hot and humid conditions. However, heat rash can also occur due to fever or in newborns confined to incubators.
Symptoms of heat rash
When it comes to heat rash, the skin usually develops a red or pink rash. However, upon closer inspection, you may notice small droplets of sweat trapped under the skin. These droplets appear as tiny dots filled with fluid, which can be clear or cloudy-white in color. It is common for the rash to cause itching or a prickling sensation, which may result in your baby or child feeling fussy and out of sorts.
