Adrenaline
Adrenaline, also known as epinephrine, is a crucial hormone produced in the adrenal glands situated above the kidneys. This hormone plays a vital role in the fight-or-flight response, which is activated during times of stress or danger. When released, adrenaline causes the blood vessels to contract, enabling more blood to reach the essential organs. Additionally, it opens up the airways, allowing more oxygen to enter the body. As a result, the body’s pain threshold increases, and there is a heightened sense of strength and awareness of the surroundings. These effects can persist for approximately one hour after adrenaline is triggered.
