Vitamins B12 and B9, also known as cobalamin and folate, play a crucial role in preventing anemia and other blood-related issues in newborns and infants. In particular, cobalamin deficiency is commonly observed in infants whose mothers follow a vegan diet or suffer from anemia and breastfeed their children. Similarly, inadequate consumption of folate during pregnancy can lead to a folate-deficient child.

Calcium Deficiency: Causes and Symptoms
Calcium deficiency, also known as hypocalcemia, can occur due to various factors such as premature birth, infections, certain medications, and inadequate vitamin D levels. Although children generally do not show noticeable symptoms when lacking calcium, some toddlers may experience short stature, brittle nails, and dry skin and hair.
To address calcium deficiency, increasing calcium intake through supplements and consuming calcium-rich foods such as milk and green vegetables can be highly effective. In certain cases, children may also require additional vitamin D supplementation.
