Fun Game: Keep Away
Keep Away is a popular playground game that can be played in various forms. While any type of ball can be used, a small rubber ball is commonly preferred. The game involves dividing kids into teams and throwing the ball into the air to start the game. The objective is for the team that catches the ball to pass it around among their teammates, while the opposing team tries to intercept it and “keep it away.” Typically, Keep Away is played without keeping score, but you can introduce your own rules to determine a winning team.
Simple Kickball
Kickball is a fun game that can be adapted for children of all ages. Simple kickball, also known as kindergarten kickball, is specifically designed for younger children but can be enjoyed by older ones as well. To play this version of kickball, all you need is a rubber playground ball (kickball) and some rubber cones. If you don’t have rubber cones, you can use stackable buckets instead.
The game starts with an adult acting as the pitcher. The children line up in the outfield, with one child designated as the kicker. The pitcher rolls the ball towards the kicker, who then kicks it as far as possible. The kicker’s objective is to collect as many cones or buckets as they can before the ball is returned to them. The child who collects the most cones or buckets is declared the winner of the round.
After completing their turn as the kicker, the child joins the rest of the team in the outfield, and the next child in line becomes the new kicker. This rotation continues until all the children have had a chance to bat.
