While Pseudomonas fluorescens offers numerous benefits to plants, it is worth noting that it rarely causes infection in healthy individuals. Pseudomonas putida is a unique bacterium known for its remarkable capacity to break down a wide range of organic and inorganic substances. Notably, this bacterium also has the ability to infect humans. Although rare, individuals with weakened immune systems can potentially contract this infection. Among the four distinct strains of P. putida, three have been found to impact mammalian tissue, and one of these strains can cause considerable harm to the epidermis.
