Pain Relief
Research suggests that various types of wormwood have the potential to alleviate pain and alleviate other symptoms associated with osteoarthritis. According to studies, the topical application of artemisia umbelliformis, also known as alpine wormwood, is just as effective as two commonly used medications for managing pain and reducing inflammation caused by osteoarthritis. Additionally, A. absinthium has also shown promising results in pain management; however, further investigation is required to determine the appropriate dosage.
Possible Treatment for Crohn’s Disease
According to a study conducted in Germany, wormwood has demonstrated potential as an effective treatment for Crohn’s disease. The participants who received wormwood extract exhibited improved tolerance to a gradual reduction of their steroid medication. After eight weeks, an impressive 65 percent of patients in the study group achieved remission, while none in the placebo group experienced the same outcome. Notably, the study also found that wormwood had a positive impact on the overall quality of life and mood of individuals with Crohn’s disease, a result not typically observed with conventional medications.
