Experiencing Vague Discomfort
Doctors often face a unique challenge when patients describe a general sense of feeling unwell without being able to pinpoint specific symptoms. This vague discomfort can sometimes indicate an emotional issue rather than a physical ailment. However, certain conditions can also cause individuals to experience a general feeling of malaise without any prominent symptoms. Shingles is one such condition that can contribute to this overall sense of physical lowliness.
Can shingles come back?
Shingles is a viral infection that can cause a painful rash. Unfortunately, having shingles once does not guarantee immunity against future outbreaks. While it is possible for some individuals to experience multiple episodes of shingles, this is considered to be extremely uncommon. Researchers have been studying why some people who had shingles in their younger years may develop it again later in life. Although no definitive conclusions have been made, there is a strong suspicion that a weakened immune system may play a role in allowing the infection to resurface.
