Signs of Tendinitis

Signs of Inflammation: Redness and Warmth

Redness and warmth are common indicators of inflammation. When a tendon is inflamed, it may exhibit these signs, often accompanied by a sensation of heat radiating from the affected area. Additionally, the tissue surrounding the tendon may make popping or squeaking sounds when manipulated or massaged. Similar to pain and other symptoms, redness and warmth tend to arise or worsen when the tendon’s vicinity has been irritated due to excessive movement.

Tendinitis and Itching: Understanding the Connection

Itching can be an unexpected symptom experienced by individuals with tendinitis, which is characterized by inflammation in the tendon. The underlying inflammation in the tendon is the primary cause of this uncomfortable sensation. For individuals with gout, a condition where uric acid crystals accumulate in the joints and extremities, tendon pain, irritation, and inflammation can also occur, leading to itching. Furthermore, persistently experiencing friction and pressure can further aggravate the itching symptom associated with tendinitis.
